Dark Brick!!

Every now and then you come across a very dark room, mainly because of the reflective material used in the room.

The most absorbent material I know is Brick, and esspecially DARK brick.

Foir this room I set up two shoot through umbrellas, with off camera strobes set at FULL power on one and half on the other, I needed to get the light distributed as much as possible.

With the exposure set on the ambient, the umbrellas took care of the fill.

Even bouncing off the roof was not good. The roof needed some brighter paint as the white had faded quite a bit over the years. It was quite yellow in colour which didn't do any good with bouncing into the room.
